Re: New build for me...
WOW!
I am impressed with the quality of the build because I have been able to watch the build from start to finish.
And I am very happy for you!
You will have to install the motherboard software or drivers I mean for the 6GB's controller to work I believe? But not familiar with your board?
I am sure you will get it sorted shortly.
Thanks again for sharing this build with us.
I feel myself going into build withdrawl as I type...

Thanks guys...I'm not selling it! At least not until I could build another one...I think my cousin got a little gun shy when he asked how much it was. I told him if he didn't know, then he should got to BestBuy and buy a shelf unit :Kewl:

Congrats Savage, excellent job.
You might right click on Computer and go to manage and then disk management to format your drives.

Re: New build for me...
I have to see them in bios first...I just found new drivers for them. Maybe this next reboot will find them!
Re: New build for me...
Make sure they are seated all the way in the hot swap cage. You should see them in the bios.

Re: New build for me...
There also may be a setting in the bios to enable them? On my P6758D Premium board they worked right out of the gate...
Sell it to your cousin so we can see what ya build next!!! :D:

Re: New build for me...
So I bypassed the hot swap bays and hooked them up to the 6.0GB/s ports direct with separate power supplies and they were seen in BIOS right away. Looks like I call Corsair Monday and get a new Hot Swap Board on the way...this one is no worky. Um, dammit :waiting:
Re: New build for me...
did you run power to the hot swap bays?

Re: New build for me...
yeah...the SSD ran fine. You can only run one power wire to the hot swap bays. In theory it is nice because one power supplies the 4 bays. I just removed the board completely and hooked up direct to the hot swap bays. They are both showing up now. The only change is I bypassed (removed) the hot swap bay connection board and ghetto wired the hot swap bays.
This is the board that needs to be RMA'd for any 800D owners out there trolling this thread.
You can ghetto wire the drives by removing the board and just hooking up to the back of the hot swap tray. Just don't try and remove the tray! Sometimes you just have to improvise...

Re: New build for me...
As soon as you said they were not showing up in the bios it had to be the connections or the board. I just replaced the Sata II boards (which were very erratic) with the new Sata III board. Working now but since you have had a problem I will keep an eye on it. I use the hot swap feature all the time to switch drives for my movie collection.
Glad you were able to get them working. Now you are up to #2 RMA!! Bummer.

Re: New build for me...
I'll post some screens when the GPU test is through, but I ran the OCCT CPU test for an hour on high and the highest temp was 49 degree Celsius. So far the GPU loop is up to 52 degrees Celsius after 30 minutes. In both tests the fans on the radiators were set to 1/2 way so I think I am in good shape temp wise. Going to really have fun pushing this rig. 4 GHz...likely 5.
Re: New build for me...
Run LinX as your CPU stress test OCCT is a week program. For the GPU's run Furmark.

Put the folder where you want it and create a short cut to the desktop.
