Re: New build for me...
Steve's is a nice unit and it will allow for 3 pin fans to be setup as PWM fans but there is no readout of fan speed.
Sorry to here of all the trouble with air pockets and the bay reservoir design.
I had no idea theye would be that difficult to prime properly...
I think your idea with the gravity feed may just work for ya though.
Good luck!

Savage, have a look at this link for reviews of fan controllers and other peripherals. http://www.pureoverclock.com/review.php?cat=22
If the controllers listed do not have the specs or features you want i think each review has a link to the particular manufacturer's site so you could also check them?

Re: New build for me...
Well I have the thing filled and I literally rolled it on the floor to get every bubble I could see out of the CPU loop. It's better. After running it again, I see more air pockets and hear them as well. I think it is my tubing layout not the reservoir. It just has too much complexity to it, but it is what I want visually. I think I may just have to suck it up and roll it around to get rid of the air little by little.
Re: New build for me...
Glad to hear you are making some progress. It may be because the number of blocks being used in that loop that it will take a while to flush all the air.
What about the GPU loop? Did you get it back to a decent flow?

Re: New build for me...
Both loops are flowing well and are slowly getting quieter. I just ran it for 10 minutes, rolled the case around, bled the top of the reservoir and it helped a little...I'll get there. However, realizing that it's you (method of tubing) that caused this grief and not something or someone else to blame is not a highly recommended realization. I suggest whacking your thumb with a hammer instead. It heals faster than pride. I don't think it is the number of blocks. I think it is the route of the supply and return in the back of the MB tray. It is causing an extra full height rise and the air loves it very much. The tubing looks fantastic, but it's just a nightmare to bleed out the air.
Re: New build for me...
CPU loop is what I would call "silent" again. As in as quiet as I think it should be in ideal conditions. You can barely hear the pump. GPU loop is still making a bit of noise, but I'll keep working on it. Unfortunately, this is exactly where I was last night, but what are you going to do?
Re: New build for me...
I think the pump they sent me for the GPU side is defective. Yep...that's my story. I'm calling them Monday. All the time spent on this. There is no more air on the gpu side. It is completely free of air. It is the easier loop to fill and bleed. It's just a noisy pump. The other side is dang near silent. This thing sounds like it is a jet taking off. I'm going to pull the pump out of the reservoir and do some testing with no loops. Straight shot with no loop to worry about.

Can the GPU loop be connected to the other pump for testing purposes? If so and the pump gets noisy then there is still air somewhere in the GPU loop or worse, a blockage.
Just thinking of ways to troubleshoot...
Good luck and you can B slap me if ya want. LOL

Re: New build for me...
To be perfectly honest, I'm not touching the CPU loop. It is silent, working and screaming don't eff with me. I just took off the pump for the GPU loop. It is not easy, btw. I just hooked it up straight to a tub of water. It works. It is air in the system. I'm rerouting the line on the GPU route.
Re: New build for me...
May I make a suggestion..... If the pumps are not varios feed them with less volts to reduce the speed of pumping ..... another way is to pulse the flow on for a few seconds then off for a few seconds.
I read a little about the res buy I wonder....if you change the "plug" to run dual loop dual pump single res would that help?
Musings or thinking out loud here....

Well that is good news that the pump is working!
Good luck i am sure you will get it! :

Re: New build for me...
I disconnected the GPU blocks so that basically the outlet of the reservoir pump discharged directly into the reservoir. The pump is making the identical noise. I don't know what else to say. When I tested it outside of the reservoir, it seemed silent. Inside, not so much. I know longer believe this is air in the lines that I can't get out. It is the pump. I flipped the case in all different directions trying to get the air out of the system. There is no more air...
Re: New build for me...
You mentioned you were going to reroute the return line? I guess that did not help?
Could be a defective pump I guess. It may appear to have decent flow when little pressure is in the line. And once the blocks are connected too much pressure for the pump?

Re: New build for me...
No...I wouldn't say the pump pressure is affected at all. It runs fine when the blocks are attached and it runs fine when the blocks are by passed. It just makes noise. The other side is damn near silent. This one is louder. I'll contact Koolance, but I'm not waiting on an RMA. I may have to order a new pump. If the pump can't perform with no blocks attached, then it certainly isn't going to perform with not blocks attached.
Re: New build for me...
Sorry Savage maybe I missed something?
So the pump worked great when removed and used in a tub correct? But it is noisy.
When connected now with the GPU's it is running well with good flow correct? But it is still noisy? so now the only issue is the noise of the pump?
Or am I missing something else besides my mind which appears to be dwindling by the post...

Re: New build for me...
You understand perfectly. I think I'm just not communicating well. I feel like I wasted two days trying to fix something that isn't able to be fixed. The only problem is the pump is noisy. I'm just going to leave it run all night and call Koolance tomorrow and see what they say.
Re: New build for me...
If it is just a noisy pump then it can be fixed it is just a pain in the ass for you to have to wait. But letting it run for the day will be a great way to be sure the rest of the system is leak free!
Take a break have a BEER and go gaming on your other system. :D:

Re: New build for me...
Thanks Joel...sorry if I am being an ass. I just want to get stuff going and I hate feeling like helpless.
Re: New build for me...
Your not being an ass, the pump is! Maybe when this is all done you should make a video of you smashing the pump with a sledgehammer or something. LOL

Re: New build for me...
now you are talking...I would like to smash it with a really big hammer or possible a rock.
Re: New build for me...
You'll have to make it interesting... Use an old optical drive or PSU to smash it to bits and then a nice vid of the completed computer. LOL
I'm sorry as I am not laughing at you my friend! You will be laughing also as time heals all wounds they say. Just might take a little longer for you...
