Friday 2nd April 2010 ( Good Friday )
Good morning to all. Happy bank holiday weekend if this applys to you. Grab a Chocolate Egg and a cup of coffee complimentary of the forum. :Nananana:
Off today but working monday so not all that bad. Going to grab another HDMI cable today from Asda just to be safe. But the card is working good though. Watched some of a movie last night and it was clearer than the 4870. So good stuff here. Though a corssfire will be fourth coming.
Hope you all have a fine start to the weekend.

Make sure the cable is marked 1.3, not sure what the difference is but you will be able to see the difference when using it.
Enjoy the day off and have a good weekend.

That is an interesting point there bob. :study: I did look at this specification but here they are mainly labelled by what resolution they can support.
I have just got back from Asda and grabbed this VFM HDMI Cable that i used for my PS3. Due to it being quality enough to support the ps3 and blueray i thought it would be great for use with this.
Well its made a difference. No really spluttery displays now , though the others seems to shake slightly and the current 720P setting works the best.

Good day all, I must say that is an interesting problem McT I wish I could help more but I can't reproduce the problem on my TV, I even went to the dollar store and bought a cheap HDMI cable and it still worked fine.

Hi
Cable con.
Cables marked 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc are a con.
Whilst some cables maybe more compatible for your set up.
Any decent HDMI cable will work with all formats/versions.

Good day to evryone! Coffee still brewing? I have to go to work tonight finally... can't put it off anymore i guess. I am still very stressed though and my ex just dumped another bomb on me just this morning. I guess he just can't get enough of hurting me. Now he claims he never cheated on me, but lied about it..claims he went to confession and was just on the phone with me crying... oh holy heck. I need that coffee straight up black! :WTF:

Thanks Steve. Appreciate the concern on this one. Its getting better. Maybe a combination of things. The cheap cable did not help that was for sure. The main thing bugging me is the HDMI connection could probably push in slightly more. I think it would give it full connection then. Maybe the problem altogether.
I am leaning towards the cards refresh rates. This set is a little old now. Top TV in its day , £2000 then. It requires a high refresh rate it seems. Using anything other than the current 1280x720P HDTV uses either 30i and 25i rates. rather than 50 or 60 which would look fine. :face:
The 5770 series is growing on me Steve. Just at first offered nothing other from my 4870 and i was £125 out of pocket. But viewing some movies brought its quality out.

Interesting , as i have not actually seen any marketed with those specs. Then the ones i look at dont have much information on the box apart form HDMI Cable !!!
This new one is for the ps3/Xbox360 range. So must have good bandwidth and true HD attributes. Not bad for £9.

Well look at it like lan cables, cat5, cat5a, cat6 all are made differently and pass different bandwiths. But they look the same.

Sometimes when posting stuff the html brackets delete some of the code. I just edited your post and filled in the missing part. Nothing big just a- [/ -
like this :
and you would need to finish with a close
yours was missing the [/ of the end one.

This is all interesting to me. Next time i go to curries or pc world i am going to study some of the quality cables and see what they state.
I would like to visually understand what statistics separate the cheaper ( good ones ) from the expensive good ones.
