N.B. Forum header - icons can be changed (obviously Header will be McT's).
As can font size - color etc.
Background as is now or similar.
Depending on visibility of forum topics/posts.

Things to further to consider.

The "Star Wars" transparency.
Shouldn't be a problem.
Why?
Firstly the intended background will be darker.
e.g.


Current active forum width is say 80%.
Increase this to 95%+.
This has the same effect as increasing font size from 12 to 14.
Font size 12 is used in "demo" 14 here.
Of course font size can also be increased (not in demo mode).
Font color too can be easily changed (maybe green as is now).
If green is used then background maybe more like this.



Personally it makes little difference to me.
Other than ....
By changing from current (mainly CSS code)*.
The suggested format, is more click & save.
Making it far easier to add - edit etc.
Could be easier for new founder to ease in.
(Should this ever happen.)

When employed it restricts what can be done via the alternative.




To sum up then.
Just try to conceive of the theme, as merely a template on which to develop & build.
I shall not vote.
If you look the story so looks like.
Votes 3 > 1 in favour of change.
At best 50/50 on views posted.
No-one will have a greater say.
ie. Length of membership - # of posts etc.

Hey it is pretty cool just find the starship a bit too busy and distracting.Maybe more of a planet and void of space background I know it's a poll but here some feedback ...

When in demo mode it is not possible to make further changes.
As soon as one enters the Admin panel.
You are in default.
So what you see now.
If you click on thumbnail it gives a better idea though.

I could make it this formats background.
But as it is no longer transparent.
Not sure that would help.

But it shows the diversity one could have.
Once you decide on keeping current or changing to SW.
If SW is loaded you can tweak from there.
Changing font size/color to overcome any visibility problems.

You need Founder access to change skin.
I could take this on (temporary).
Make changes to simplify administration.
Then if & when some one else shows interest.
Hand over to them.
