Good morning everyone coffee is on help yourself.

I think I am too late for coffee as i have a beer in my hand at the moment. Been a very busy week for me and when I do arrive home there is always things to do and socializing with the neighbours.

Hey Joel! Well I saw my mom for the first time today since being here! And I swear there has been an alien abduction in my parents house. My Dad was actually happy that my son and i are staying at my girlfriend's house. I was literally sick with worry all week about telling him that bit of news as for it ismy way of protecting my son. And then he was happy to keep my dog that i brought with us. I thought for sure he was going to be nasty about liam and i not staying with them becasue that was the response i was expecting. Then he was all grandfatherly with my son and all protective not wanting him to go outside with the dogs and so on... it was weird to say the very least... you have no idea the mean a$$ monster he can be at times throughout my life... it was just very strange. My best friend says it is guilt over what happened in january. Yeah. maybe so, but it was a nice change.. hope it lasts. Horses just usually don't change their colors.

So my mom looks wonderful!!!!!!!! she lost about half her hair while she was sick and back in march i could see her scalp right downt he center of her head.. it has all grown back in nice and thick.. and her cognitive ability has returned, and if you can believe this.. she seems sharper now than before she got sick. I have had some very nice conversations with her in the last month or so whereas before it seemed like she really could never connect with me. She is no longer using the wheelchair, and she is walking with a wheeled walker now. She can't do more than about 50 or 60 feet at a time, but at least she is walking and she is using the toilet!!! She is still not 100% and i doubt she really ever will be, but she is doing absolutely fabulously well. I was in total shock tonight. It is like night and day between when i last saw her in March and the way she was today!!!!!! Holy Moses... it was a very pleasant surprise. She has to go see her wound care specialist next tuesday, and I am going to be there for that.. her wound is still not healing as well as i had been told it was, and she has a new bit of skin break down around her colostomy.. but that part at least i know how to treat being the ICU nurse that i am so i told my dad how to fix that. I told him it will go away if he uses a special paste that i know she has in her medical supply cache. Yep. today at least was a good day. :sunny:
