Re: New build for me...
While you sink a few, swap the pumps over....just to see if the noise moves with the pump or not
Maybe if you use beer in that loop it will settle the pump down :D:

Re: New build for me...
Against my better judgment, I removed the pump from the CPU loop. The loop that was running perfect. I switched the pumps. Now I have a perfectly quiet GPU loop and a noisy CPU loop. No more doing anything until I get me some QDC's and another pump. I'm so smashing that pump.
Steve, where can you buy that pt-nuke? Every place I have found in the states is sold out. I may go with the Fesser stuff.

Re: New build for me...
I think Petra's have the Cu one in stock (I thought PT Nuke stood for Petras Techshop Nuke but hey what do I know)
You might have to start over (or wait) if you want the PHN version though

Well at least you know for sure that it is the pump. Only problem is the wait for another. Can't wait to see the smashing!!! :D:

Re: New build for me...
I have an email into Koolance...Steve you mentioned a lady over there that might be more helpful? Do you know who I should ask for?
I ordered the PT-Nuke and a Lamptron FC-5v2 fan controller. I am ordering some QDC's as well. What series do you have smduff? I am looking at the VL3N series now. I am getting really tired of working at the same point...ready to work on the rig productively.

Your making progress! These little things happen when building anything and everything. I understand you are frustrated but you will get there!

I have these QDC's ^ they work great, as for the lady's name I can't recall it Deton deals with her, maybe send him a PM on POC it usually takes him a day or 2 to respond.

Re: New build for me...
Thanks smduff...those are similar to the ones I'm going to order. I'll give Koolance a few hours to respond and then I'll just call them. They are a couple of hours behind us, so I need to take that into consideration.
Re: New build for me...
The noisy pump and the control board are on their way back to Koolance via RMA. Although Koolance processed the RMA quickly, the lacked any compassion on the phone. When I told them of the situation it was just like they it was my fault that I spent as much time as I did trying to get the pump to work. I guess it is, but I sure didn't need to hear it from them. The RMA'd pump will be a spare.
I didn't order a replacement pump from them either. Even though it was 12:05 pm their time, they couldn't guarantee shipment of a new pump (that I paid for) that day. I spent $30 (pump cost) more to get the same pump from Frozen that will ship out tonight and be here Wednesday. In the end it will be a wash for timing and cost, but Koolance just didn't seem to care of the situation at all. I'm not impressed at all with their Customer Service bedside manner at all.
I'll let you know how the RMA goes. I mailed the parts back to them this afternoon via USPS Priority Mail. I'm hoping to have the replacement new pump and QDC here from FrozenCPU Wednesday and the system test running again on Wednesday evening. Fan controller should be here Wednesday as well. It is the Lamptron FC5-v2. The sunbeam that smduff reviewed would have been fine, but Joel got me thinking that I may want some sort of readout. I've heard good things about these units. We'll see.

Well I hope the RMA goes better than the bedside manner let us know how it turns out.

Re: New build for me...
Yeah...I'm just a little disappointed there was zero compassion. It was take a number and move on to the next. They issued the RMA really fast and responded timely so I'm not trying to trash them at all. They just really are missing an opportunity to connect to their normally faceless internet shoppers. You just never know when you are going to be talking to someone that posts at a dozen websites or so...lol

Re: New build for me...
ok...I paid for expedited shipping on the Lamptron FC5 and it is coming later than some monitor mounts that I went for super saver discount on Amazon. Hmmmm...oh well. The fan controller will likely be here on the 18th or Friday. The new pump and QDC should be here tomorrow. The PT nuke should be here on Thursday. So if things go well, I should be on track to fire up the rig this weekend. I hope so...kind of going nuts waiting on parts.
After testing all of the fans on the case, they are silent. I mean, can't even hear them at all. I ordered 3 more to put the top (GPU) radiator in push/pull configuration like the bottom.

I learned a long time ago not to plan for anything. If it was meant to be then it will happen just not necessarily in the time frame you wished for.
