I have been using MSE for at least 6 months now and have not had a single problem. It is not the hog that Norton or McAfee is.

Hi Bob I am really impressed with it also! I have been using it since it was first a beta and when it went live I installed it on 4 other computers here n the house for the kids and wife.

Like you I have been using it since its inception have it on both computers

For those who are still (unbelievingly) impressed by MS Security Essentials.
Have you really tried any alternatives.
MS SE isn't bad...... but it is not that great either.

I tried comodo dident care for it, it was to invasive on everything I did which I dident like I like something that works in the backround and I dont know its their till shit that matters happens

Although I have never tried Comodo...

PC Security software for home use should be designed to be idiot proof (yes I am speaking about me) and need little or No interaction from the user accept for basic installation and setup!

I know there are always going to be those paranoid types that need to have full control over everything PC related but most user are not, and just want and need something that works right out of the box so to speak IMO.

MS does not offer the safe protection.
Even updates aren't always installed (do a manual check, you may be surprised).

With Comodo from from fresh, it does take a bit of patience to get all settings as you might require.
For me worth it is worth.
Part of the reason for my being low key has been due to running several comparisons.
MS vs Avira vs AVG vs Avast vs Comodo.
MS came last, but unlike Avira, Avast & AVG didn't really need additional spyware etc.
But updating isn't as spontaneous as it should be though.

Comodo took me about a week to be totally satisfied with the settings.
I wouldn't use anything else now.

Maybe I will give it another go and work with the settings Zeb, I didn't leave it on for more then a couple of days so not a very fair statement on my part!
and maybe I am just lucky and MSE is not as good as I think it is, but so far its caught everything that's come my way and that's what matters. so I often wonder just how good do they really need to be and grant you I don't go surfing all over the web or download things I shouldn't either!. So maybe that's part of it as well.

If it appears to work for you...... then fine.
However when testing I went to sites not advisable.
The results were.
Simply amazing.
MSE failed on about 20 occasions.
Comodo once.
You have to bear in mind that this was deliberately pushing the envelope.
In my normal everyday trawling the net.
I probably could get away with no protection.
Though it is never worth that risk.
