Re: SSD
What make is the drive Bob and is it an Indilinx based controller or a Sandforce controller.
The images I am posting show the difference between the 2. The Patriot Inferno has the Sandforce controller and is much faster.
The Vertex is older and has the Indilinx Controller which is slower.

Re: SSD
OK, the only information I find on the controller is in the Device Manager and it tells me it is - AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller.

Re: SSD
Get a file hosting account for free at a place like imageshack or the best i have found over the years is http://photobucket.com/
It is free and all you do is upload your images and once done they supply the code for the image and you just copy and paste it anywhere in your post and wala the pic appears.
Always use the code which starts with the [img] tag

Re: SSD
They look great Bob! Those numbers look really good better than my vertex. Mine is an older first generation Vertex with the indilinx controller yours has to be a second generation with the sandforce controller.
What is the actual name and model # of your vertex? it is on the bottom of the drive.

Re: SSD
Hi
Easiest way to post image here.
Just use the "Host an image" button.
Found in bar menu at top of post area.
Click on it , browse etc.
Job done.
This does not affect forum capacity.
Latest HDTune is 4.60 {28/8/2010} http://www.hdtune.com/download.html
Using this version is more accurate.
Of particular note is access time.
Should be more like 0.098 secs or less.
Whereas both of you show 0.1 secs.

I will open it up again later today and see if it gives anything other than Vertex Series 60GB. How do you tell what the controller is?

Once you have the actual model number off the back you just look on the website support for the specs!bob2701 wrote:4hams wrote:They look great Bob! It's gone! I'm not shelling out the kind of money some folks have mentioned to me. Just put it down as another one of those PITA things that happen in life...

Re: SSD
Joel , have you looked at the new OCZ Agility SSDs, they are cheaper and faster than the Vertex Line.
