That would be handy indeed. Save me a few quid on another Win7 key. Was just originally worried as Vista is a real ram hog ! ! ! And with only the 2GB to start with thought maybe something else would be better. ?

With the money id save buying win7 again i could probably pick up 4GB DDR2 ... lol !!! We will see how 2GB goes first though.

I have everything thing i need to get this rolling now , i have only and gone and miss placed the metal runners for the hd installation. Without them they do not screw in to the case solidly........ Doing my best to find them but got a feeling they are long gone :D

Real shame.

IF this is the case then i might have to look at another proper HTPC type case

If ya need to get a new case have a look at this baby. It is very inexpensive and i am sure you have a few fans that can be added for intake air.

Could most certainly look. I need to really look hard and low first around the place today. Been tied up as usual and have only checked a few places. I am sure i will find them as i dont really fancy spending more on another case.

Its now all fully built and looking sexy i think. Cable management was never my strong point but did a pretty cool job i think. :D

Problem being i could not get it fired up as I do not have a spare keyboard or mouse around. This one i use is wireless and needs drivers before you can use them.

I will upload the pictures i took for you anyway. Give me a second peeps.

This has been a strange build , one that has been completed quicker than expected but has provided much experience along the way. I am guessing once i get the rig up and running how i would like it then it will begin to be part of my puter family. Its been a very enjoyable time , looking back in the thread i remember feeling very different at various points in the thread. Its feels good to be here posting this today as opposed to originally opening the thread. I hope you all enjoy this as much as i did making it.

Yeah , i did find the clip joel. If you check the snap of the HD bay you can see there are holes in the above tray. Its needs to scew in that way. I cant find the second one though , so wont be adding any more space it seems.

I am sure they do Joel. Its just sourcing them and what they would charge. Its not the worlds best built case. Id rather prefer to buy a much more slim line DVD player like sized case and sell this one on cheaply.

Back visiting, nice HTPC build! Is that HTPC direct to TV, or through an Audio Video Receiver (AVR)? Just a tip, all ATI and nVidia cards will do 1080p or 720p video for the TV, but only the nVidia GT-430 or the GTX-460 or (I've heard, the ATI high 6xxx cards are now included) can make for BD audio in TrueHD or DTS-HD Master.

My HTPC uses one HDMI cable out of the GT-430 into the 7.1 AVR I have, and that AVR feeds to the TV through one HDMI as well. The first time I turned on the PC, it told me I had Pioneer TV audio, and I got to pick 7 channel audio. Now all PCM is full 7.1 channels, VLC plays great 1080p/DTS or 1080p/DD, and Windows Media Classic Player PLUS ffdshow, both set up the correct way, plays certain files with TrueHD and DTS-HD Master audio.

PowerDVD 10 Ultra lets the LG BD-RW unit playback Blu Ray disks with TruedHD and DTS-HD Master, but not files (just DTS/DD). So now I use a three some of playback software, mostly using VLC to playback myriad mkv files I store on an older WHS 2003 PC, and WMC+ffdshow for the 10 or so TrueHD or DTS-HD Master files. It all works great over the network (our is 10/100/1000 and all 1000 connected wired). The router is wireless too, and plays just OK over the 2.4 band, but the router has a dual band at 5.8 GHz and that's for HD, but unused, as yet.
