What do you think of the plumbing plan?
Edit: I located some AS 1&2 locally...I'll pick some up later.
Looks pretty good I would try a dry rag and rub off what I could then just paste over top.

Video loop looks good to me. (Res, rad, 580's,res) I think that is the flow direction?
I would run CPU loop the same as Video loop. (Res, rad, cpu, ram, motherboard, res)

GPU's produce much higher temps, where as the CPU is really the only heat producer in the other loop Mobo and ram are negligible where heat is concerned.

Re: New build for me...
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll reroute accordingly. I'm kind of trapped here and the only place that has the AS 1&2 in town closes at 5pm. I can't leave until the Koolance shipment arrives as it requires a sig. UPS usually gets here by 3pm, so I should make it.

All this technology in the world and we still don't have transporter rooms like from the old Star trek show. I could have beamed ya over the 2 bottles that are sitting here in front of me on the shelf. LOL

I know! I ran out last night cleaning up the video cards. It was left over from prior builds for work and me. UPS has arrived...headed into town shortly to go pick some up.

How about some of the Adhesive Remover swabs you can get at any drug store. They look like alcohol swabs but a different formula. Used to remove the adhesive from bandages.

Re: New build for me...
I'm back and got the AS 1&2. I should be busy for a while. Some eye candy for you to look at while I go work on the rig:
Misc fittings, flow meters, temp sensors
Control Boards and fluid (didn't unpack until I'm ready for the board...sorry)
Reservoir and pumps...so pretty!
MB Block...really nice looking.
CPU block. This is the brand new CPU-370 that just came out. I hope they spend more time machining the inside because the top looks like ass. There is pitting and a scratch or two. It's certainly acceptable, but I was hoping for a mirror finish like on the MB Block.

Take a few pics of the sensors/flow meters I was looking at getting some of those but didn't like the fact that your limited to Koolance gear to make it work. I'm curious to see how it does.

Re: New build for me...
Finally got that chip clean...
ArcticClean 1&2 to the rescue.
MB is starting to take shape!!!
Headed out for some dinner...more work likely tomorrow. I'll post pics of the sensors and flow meters when I get there smduff. I promise. Have a good evening everyone and I sincerely appreciate all the feedback and motivation!

Re: New build for me...
It's a shame Koolance doesn't spend some time cleaning up the pitting on the surface before sending the parts for plating...
But it is still a very sweet looking block and looks great with the other blocks on the board!
Enjoy dinner. :D:

Re: New build for me...
Does it matter which direction of flow the liquid runs through the motherboard? I would like to go from top to bottom, but I've mostly seen people feed the bottom and exit at the top.
EDIT: I decided to go from Res>Pump>2xRad>CPU>RAM>MB>Res for Loop 1 This just works cleaner with less frictional flow (less bends in loop). I don't think it makes a big difference (if any) to mix up the MB and RAM in the loop. Let's face those are eye candy any way. The MB will flow from the bottom inlet to the top outlet and then back to the reservoir.Loop 2 Res>Pump>3xRad>Card1>Card2>Res.

Re: New build for me...
nope direction doesn't matter on the mobo as far as I know, on the CPU block it will.

Thanks...I thought so. CPU block is clearly marked and is "Savage Proof". See my prior edit and please comment if you don't mind.

Re: New build for me...
I just hit a temporary setback. I ordered the wrong fittings to house my temp meters. I also didn't order the 3-ways for my drains. I know at one point I had them in my cart, but I deleted them at some point. Grrrrr. I'm also completely out of sleeving materials. I tried to find some locally, but they don't have any that I can find. I even found a PC shop that seemed to have a decent amount of parts, but no sleeve materials at all. I'll order what I need and do this the right way. I can still do some work this weekend, but I won't be able to take it as far as I wanted.
Re: New build for me...
Sorry to hear about the setback. But I'm sure you want to do it once and do it right. Take a break and go play with the kids. :

Re: New build for me...
I doubt we are going to have anything with G 1/4 BSP threads on it here in the States...lol. I have to go out later to get some stuff for the house and I'll look just to be safe.
I'm looking at the EK-FC Bridge to connect the cards, but it doesn't list the FC580 GTX as a compatible block. I can't imagine that it won't work, but it would be nice to know. I've got to research some forums. According to the Dazmode site, it should fit. Everyone seems to want to go serial here where I was thinking parallel...lol. My thoughts are higher flows (from a parallel setup) should help reduce the heat, but I guess the school of thought is the higher pressure (from a serial setup) will absorb more heat from the block. Thoughts?

Re: New build for me...
I think the decision comes down to your preference. Pretty sure that you will find discussions fore and against both ideas. I believe it all depends how restrictive the blocks are and the overall loops.
Good luck with the decisions.

Re: New build for me...
The bridge makes for a much cleaner looking setup in some peoples opinion, but I prefer to see more hosing my self. Were you not going clear and red coolant?
