Good Morning August 28th
Good Morning everyone, coffe pot is on. Emeril's Big easy bold today. First time trying and it is not bad although I prefer a French Roast. Have a great weekend, weather here will be in the mid 80's today and low 90's tommorow.
Steve, are you playing with the cooler yet?? :

Good Morning everyone. Thanks for the coffee Bob.
I wish I was playing with the cooler, but it will be a while.
Should be here maybe by the end of the week, then I have to get
the Intel 775 mounting bracket.
Or I could always do a redo and get an AMD, I'm thinking maybe that's what
Smduff had planned all along to get me over to the dark side.

I'll let you know, as I have a ticket in with CoolIT right now on this and for a couple other items.

Re: Good Morning August 28th
ok
there are two tension bars that crisscross the block and are held in place by four posts attached from the back of the mother board and cause a spring like action pressing it down against the CPU as you tighten the top four thumb screws there is no backer plate which I believe the elite has and the block on the elite is thinner in height so this may not work for you now that I think about it!

Good morning everyone, thanks for the coffee Bob, finally some very good weather today not to hot and not to cold, perfect for drinking coffee on the deck at the moment.

Re: Good Morning August 28th
You might not need it just a few washers go on the back of the screw heads, or you can use the one thats already on your board

If you go with washers, make sure they are non conductive.
And the Dark side is looking pretty bright.

Your mobo should have a stock back plate already.

Re: Good Morning August 28th
No it won't unless he has updated the cooler from the stock cooler for his CPU and even then alot of the updated coolers did not have back plates. Then you would have to be sure they use the same thread...smduff wrote:Your mobo should have a stock back plate already.

Steve, how close are you and vinny in proximity? He may have a backplate and hold down for your unit as he has an older Freezone...

If vinny does not have the correct stuff Coolit can send ya the correct stuff for a 775 socket at a reasonable price I am sure.

No update, just a stock Intel CPU & fan.
From me to Vinny (L.A. area) about 600 miles!

Oh god I thought you guys were like across the city from each other... My bad. Stick with coolit systems and tell them you need the mounting hardware for a Freezone Elite to work with a socket 775 board.Steve wrote:No update, just a stock Intel CPU & fan.

Re: Good Morning August 28th
I did that yesterday and for whatever reason they want a pic of the cooler head. I guess they may have had more than one design?
So I have to wait until Canada Post get my package sent down to me so I can take a pic to send to them.

Re: Good Morning August 28th
I have the hardware, screws, and washers for the install, and will draw you a diagram and a step by step for the install and send it off with the parts, its easy you don't need a backer plate

Re: Good Morning August 28th
Vinny,
I've been looking at the Elite install PDF from CoolIT.
Besides the screws and nylon washers, do you have the Intel 775 retention bars and the Intel mobo standoffs?
