Howdy Folks!
Hope you've all been well and doing alright. I just stopped by to say that I won't be here much again. It's a great forum with good people, but it seems to be much to resource hungry. I have decent systems both here at work and at home, but every time I'm here, my processors get pegged at nearly 100% and Task Manager processes shows my browser as the culprit.

Most of ya seem to have the latest and greatest, so the resource demand is probably not an issue for you. Anyway...

Just wanted to let ya know why you won't be seeing my much.

Best wishes to all.

Good afternoon everyone, thanks for the coffee Joel.

Tio, I connect a lot of times with a cheap laptop and have no problem so I don't think it is a site issue. Clean out your PC. It might help.

Hey everyone , :D

Tio , sad to read that dude. :(

I must say i have not noticed this my friend. Here is my task manager , more or less idle when on the forum. I have various places open too.

Tell me which browser do you currently use ? We have had some problems with IE of late due to the transparency coding on the forum.

Maybe try Firefox or Chrome browsers and see if you can see a difference as we really do not want to loose you here dude. :D

Fingers crossed.

Hey Craig that is fantastic news! Glad mom and the little one are fine. You and Kenzie are gonna get alot more time together.

@ smduff, not only around corners but I shoot doubles. LOL

@ Tio, hey my friend I don't think it is the site here tio. This weekend I will plug in the old P3 system and check out the site with it. Sounds more like a scanning software of some sort is causing the issue.

Had some time to spare so thought I'd drop by. Thanks for the advice. Bob... I keep both my home and work systems clean. Both software-wise and physically... Inside and out. I have both software firewall and router. Run virus and malware checks routinely.

System here at work is a P4 2.8 GHz with 1.5GB RAM. I don't have any control over the hardware of this computer.
System at home is a 2.66 GHz PentiumD with 4GB RAM.

4H... I doubt it's a scanning issue. I don't have any programs automatically scanning on either system. Only the firewall and AV protection run in the background at home.

I visit lots of bulletin board forums almost everyday and this one is the only one which routinely nearly pegs my system full throttle on the processor.
I'm a FireFox fan and use it exclusively unless I absolutely need to. I suppose I should experiment and see if I have the same problems using IE or Opera. I don't do Chrome or Safari.

It's possible that the corporate Firewall and Internet browsing restrictions here at work may be some of the cause, as the problem is much worse here than at home.

BTW... Congrats on the new (pending) boy, McT!

Hi smile
Well I can only get to 56% CPU usage.
That is ripping BD to HDD.
Defragging another.
Running both Kaspersky & Spybot on full/deep scans.
Watching a BD film from an exteranl HDD.
2 browsers open.
Both displaying 6 sites.
Posting this post.

All this is by the by.
My suggestion is to run a Linux distro (from home).
You should notice a difference there.

BTW. If just accessing this site my CPU usage is 0%. ROTFLMAO

Zeb i promised he will not be supporting Man united ROTFLMAO . Too old school ,, This missus is a Chelsea fan so between the too. But it will be his decision as it was mine to support Villa. I actually came from a family of West ham and Man u fans.
